About This Course

This comprehensive Grade 1 Creative Activities course is a complete, play-based, learner-centred programme designed to nurture creativity, physical coordination, musical expression, artistic skills, and appreciation in young learners. It fully aligns with the official Kenya Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) for lower primary education. Through hands-on experiences using locally available, low-cost materials, learners develop key competencies such as creativity and imagination, communication and collaboration, self-efficacy, and critical thinking.

The course integrates physical movement, music, art, craft, and safety awareness, fostering holistic development while promoting Kenyan cultural values, safety, environmental consciousness, and joy in learning. It prepares Grade 1 learners for seamless progression into Grade 2 Creative Activities and builds foundational life skills for lifelong learning. The programme is suitable for both classroom implementation and structured homeschooling, with 210 practical lessons that emphasise fun, safety, inclusivity, and real-world application.
