About This Course
Religious Education Activities introduces young children to basic moral, spiritual, and ethical values based on their chosen faith (Christian Religious Education, Islamic Religious Education, or Hindu Religious Education). Through age-appropriate stories, songs, prayers, and role-play, learners develop respect for self, others, God/Creator, and the environment. The course promotes values such as honesty, sharing, kindness, and responsibility while fostering a sense of belonging and moral awareness in a respectful and inclusive manner.
Learning Objectives
Material Includes
- Age-appropriate storybooks, pictures of religious symbols
- Prayer mats, simple charts of values (respect, sharing, honesty)
- Songs and rhymes related to faith
- Digital stories/quizzes (2025 digital integration)
Requirements
- Learner’s chosen faith (Christian, Islamic or Hindu)
- Inclusive and respectful of diversity
- Role-play, dramatization and storytelling
- Assessment through observation of values demonstrated in daily interactions
Target Audience
- Age group: PP1 (4 years) and PP2 (5 years)
- All children entering formal Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) in public or private centres
- No entry requirements – builds on home-based early stimulation
- Fully inclusive for all abilities, including learners with special needs
